Doug Flowerree
took an indirect route into business brokerage.
After serving a tour in Vietnam in the U.S. Air Force,
he earned Masters Degrees in Geology and Education.
He worked in the "oil patch" for a short time
before deciding on a career in science education. He
taught the and was a school administrator
for 10 years. After that he began his own
real estate investment business, which lead to becoming
a real estate broker for a steel distributor, finding
locations through out the country for their branch
expansions. He also was general manager for a
manufacturing company that was acquired by the same
company. When the company sold, Mr. Flowerree
combined his real estate and business experience to the
challenging field of business brokerage. Beginning
as a business specialist, he worked his way up to sales
manager for James. H. White and Associates and then
became a partner in purchasing the company.
Several years later he bought out the remaining
partners. He is quick to add that it is not his
leadership that makes First Venture the success it is,
but credits it to the dedicated and loyal team of
associates that bring their vast experience in serving
you the customer. Doug operates under the
premise that "A Good Name is to be more desired
than great riches" Proverbs 22:1
Our
business is helping meet people's needs. Buying or
selling a business can meet a physical and sometimes an
emotional need, but there is a third type of need, that
money can not buy, and we cannot sell...that is a
spiritual need. Since September 11, 2001 many people are
reexamining their life in terms of what is really
important and what is life’s true meaning. People are
asking many questions. I found the following
article written by a businessman to be extremely
helpful. Do not feel obligated to read it, but if
you are searching for "The
Reason Why".
