HAL
ANDREWS, an award-winning senior agent and
consultant with First Venture Associates, has broad exposure
to hundreds of types of businesses thanks to a 35-year career
that includes being founder and CEO of a highly successful
commercial bank and later, being a
Managing-Principal-In-Charge at a top 20 accounting firm.
He has been an active and sought after consultant to
Main Street
businesses and Fortune 1000 corporations in areas of finance,
technology, business performance analysis and product and
market development. Hal
was Educated in
Florida
schools and colleges and the University of
Wisconsin
’s Graduate School of Banking.

BRAD
AND ROSE BOICE founded and operated a multi-million
dollar retail furniture chain and a distribution center in
Tampa Bay. Calling
upon their former 30 years of retail ownership experience,
they appreciate the discipline and sacrifices that build value
in one’s business. Brad
has vast experience in advertising, marketing, sales and
customer service, which brings a unique perspective in
marketing businesses for acquisition.
Brad holds a Bachelor’s Degree n Business from
Florida
State
University
. Rose, a former
legal secretary, utilizes her attention to detail and contract
knowledge to assist with the smooth transition of business
ownership.
RICHARD
BURT is a
retired dentist and practiced in Maryland for thirty years.
During that time through professional, civic and social
involvements, along with other business ventures, he developed
a strong rapport with the business community, a rapport that
prevails today. He has been involved with real estate
and business brokerage since 2000. Having a professional
manner and strong business sense, he is very comfortable in
meeting business owners to evaluate and market their
businesses. Richard is a “Million Dollar Plus” award
winner and realizes that hard work, sacrifice and dedication
is involved in building a successful business.

ROBERT
COHEN has over 28
years of sales and marketing experience. He has owned,
operated and sold several of his own businesses and is very
familiar with pricing and valuing businesses and their assets.
He is experienced at reviewing financial statements and at
preparing closing documents. He also worked as sales manager
for several large local firms and is quite capable of helping
both buyers and sellers negotiate their sale. He has lived in
the
Tampa
area since 1980 and both he and his wife have large local
families and are well connected in the
Tampa
Bay
area.

DOUG
FLOWERREE, took an indirect route into business
brokerage. After serving a tour in Vietnam
in the U.S. Air Force, he earned Masters Degrees in
Geology and Education. He worked in the "oil patch"
for a short time before deciding on a career in education. He
taught and became a school administrator for the next 10
years. After that career he began a real estate
investment business, which lead him to becoming a real estate
broker for a steel distributor, finding locations through out
the country for their branch expansions. He also was
general manager for a manufacturing company that was acquired
by the same company. When the company sold, Mr.
Flowerree combined his real estate and business experience to
the challenging field of business brokerage.
RICH
MEST graduated from
the University of Houston with a BBA in Management, The
University of South Florida with a BS in Marketing and a
Masters Degree in Management from Golden Gate University.
After four years in the Air Force, he went to work for the Jim
Walter Corporation here in Tampa. Having the corporate
experience, he went into small business ownership in the Tampa
Bay area having owned and sold multiple enterprises.
Each venture exposed him to the field of business brokerage,
utilizing a broker in each of the transactions.
Strengths are contract negotiations, deal structuring,
customer profiling and creating the sales and marketing
visions. Industry certificates include a CPM in
purchasing and a CM with the American Society of
Transportation and Logistics.

DAVE
TOMEO, after serving in the United States
Marine Corps and discharged in 1969 he spent the next few
years getting his Bachelor of Science degree at the
University
of
Tampa
in 1973. He spent a few years in teaching and a few
years in sales before teaming up with Emory Thomas to
start their own business brokerage company. As a senior
associate with over 25 years with First Venture Associates and
having been an owner twice in the company, he still
prefers to concentrate on sales. He has constantly been
a top producer because of his strong work ethic and desire to
serve the buyer and the seller with honesty and integrity.

Tampa Athletic Hall of Fame

JOHN
WIETHORN graduated
from
Xavier
University
, Williams College of Business in
Cincinnati,
Ohio
, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with
a Major in Accounting and a Minor in Economics. Over the
last thirty years, John has worked in public and private
accounting and served as an executive in corporate operations.
John is very qualified in the preparation and presentation of
financial statements. He has extensive experience working with
bankers in presenting cash flow analysis and financial
statements/funding ratio’s to obtain financing. Also, he has
worked extensively with attorneys to resolve various legal
matters, including litigation and mediation. His
diversified background in accounting and business management,
in a variety of industries, makes him well qualified to
evaluate and market any business.
